The Twenty-Ninth Day Named Finalist in 32nd Minnesota Book Awards

Alex Messenger’s The Twenty-Ninth Day: Surviving a Grizzly Attack in the Canadian Tundra photographed in the woods of Duluth, MN.

I’m supremely excited to share that The Twenty-Ninth Day: Surviving a Grizzly Attack in the Canadian Tundra has been named a finalist in the 32nd Annual Minnesota Book Awards in the category of Memoir and Creative Non-Fiction. See the rest of the finalists in all the categories here.

The awards will be announced at a ceremony on Tuesday, April 28. Before then, all of the finalists will have the opportunity to share more about their books in events leading up to the ceremony. A huge congratulations to my fellow finalists in Memoir & Creative Nonfiction, and to all the other finalists. This is a humbling award to be a finalist for and I thank the Friends of the St. Paul Public Library for this recognition.

The story was also covered by MPR news and in the Star Tribune, Pioneer Press and Duluth News Tribune.
