I was humbled to see my photo showing off the grandeur of the Grand Teton range taken from Shadow Mountain in use by National Geographic China for the image roundup, Visual feast: Visit the magnificent spectacle in the camera.

This was a bit of an “everything but the kitchen sink” moment. My wife and I were traveling on an extended road trip of the American Southwest and we decided to skip the tent and sleep in the car for the night. That meant everything out and on the roof. And then the sunset exploded, and all the photography gear was out, too.
